Front Flying Clasp of Luftwaffe
Stylish award of the Air Force (Luftwaffe) awarded for number of flights in combat conditions. There were number of variants:
Fighter (day-, night-, long range night-, heavy-)
Transport - on request
Reconnaissance - on request
The more missions you flew, the nicer you clasp got - from bronze, through silver and gold, to gold with pennant requiring from 20 up to 500 combat missions. Compare it to 25 bombing missions US pilots had to do to get ticket back home. And there's always Hans-Ulrich Rudel with his 2530 combat missions (world record never broken). There was no "ticket home" for Germans, unless death or Final Victory.
Krause's Front Flying Clasp collection includes perfect reproductions of award certificates that will significantly improve your display or complement a presentation. Wide selection of variants is available.
